Asicmain is searching for a chip-level repair technician who is an expert in the work of electronics repair. Mining hardware takes a beating. It runs hot, runs constantly, and fails in ways that only someone who understands both analog and digital circuits can properly diagnose. We need someone who doesn’t just change the parts and leave the rest to fortune but actually a kind of person who can genuinely know where the fault is and have the ability to fix it.

This position is not for beginners. You’ll be working directly on Bitmain Antminers, WhatsMiners, and Avalon units, often under time pressure, because every hour a miner sits broken is money the client isn’t making. That reality shapes how we work here: fast, accurate, and documented properly so nothing gets missed the second time around.

What You’ll Actually Be Doing

Firstly, you need to have experience in this field; otherwise, you will not survive. After joining, you are supposed to do the following work.

• Inspecting boards under a microscope to catch hairline cracks, cold joints, and corrosion that the naked eye would miss
• Using a hot-air rework station to lift and replace SMD components and BGA chips without damaging neighboring circuitry
• Reading schematics and circuit diagrams to trace a fault from a symptom (say, a board that won’t power on) back to the actual failed component
• Testing analog and digital circuits with a multimeter and diagnostic software to confirm whether a fix actually worked, not just assuming it did
• Running repaired boards through testing fixtures to verify hash rate and stability before they go back into service
• Logging every repair, every part replaced, and every test result, so there’s a clear history if the same board comes back
• Keeping your workstation and tools in line with safety standards, because rework stations and soldering irons don’t forgive carelessness
• Working with the inventory team so the right components, from capacitors to replacement chips, are on hand when you need them

Skills Required

• Solid soldering and desoldering skills, including SMD and BGA rework
• Comfortable reading and interpreting electronic schematics
• Hands-on experience with hot-air rework stations and multimeters
• Practical knowledge of PCB troubleshooting at the component level
• Familiarity with Bitmain Antminer, WhatsMiner, and Avalon hardware specifically
• Experience with diagnostic software and board testing fixtures
• At least 2 years doing chip-level repair work, not just board-swapping

Nice to have:

• Comfort testing both digital and analog circuits
• Experience with broader circuit board testing beyond mining hardware
• A trained eye for microscopic inspection work
